Solakonferansen 2018 med sterkt program viet helikoptersikkerhet

SOLAKONFERANSEN 2018 (SK18) – THE SOLA CONFERENCE 2018

Clarion Hotel Air, Sola

“Offshore Helicopter Operations Towards 2038”

We are looking forward to three exciting conference days at Sola.

Stiftelsen Solakonferansen (The Sola Conference Foundation) are embracing the whole aviation industry during the annual Solakonferansen (The Sola Conference). The objective of the conference is to gather representation from all levels within the authorities, oil companies, helicopter manufacturers, helicopter operators etc. to discuss the industry and enhance current aviation safety standards.

Stiftelsen Solakonferansen has for the fourth year in row, given the Conference Committee the mandate to continue with offshore helicopter operations as the main topic. This to underline that Solakonferansen intends to deal with this sector in depth.

The 2018 conference will be held in the English language. We will have to revert to Norwegian in between, but in those cases, we will supply handouts in English, and all lecturers will be presenting their slides in English.

The 2018 conference will be looking forward towards 2038, what does the industry look like in 2038? This aspect opens a lot of interesting perspectives which we intend to dive into. Technological development is one interesting aspect, and we will challenge the helicopter manufacturers on this topic. How does vertical flight look like in 2038? What is the level of automation? Do we still have pilots or do we have more of a systems monitoring role on board? What about training of technicians and pilots in the future? With the development in data computational power and augmented reality possibilities training could look very different 20 years from now. Another important prerequisite is how do we see the level of activity towards 2038 given that we still have 50% of the total oil and gas deposits still out there. Will we have a need for moving people off shore at all or is automation and integrated operations taking over?

In addition to exploring different future scenarios we will honor the tradition of having our regular speakers from; the Ministry of Transport and Communications, CAA NO, AVINOR AS and NHO Luftfart (The Federation of Norwegian Aviation Industries).

We are continuing the established three-day conference structure, also maintaining the evening mingling opportunities, and we will meet at a new destination, Clarion Hotel Air, Sola.

Of course, we want Solakonferansen to be a common arena for the industry, so we have also made it possible for participants/groups of participants or companies who wish to conduct internal meetings at the conference hotel, such as before the official opening and lunch the first day, and after lunch last day. We can offer five meeting rooms with capacity from 5 to 20 people. Furthermore, we have a larger meeting room that seats up to 70 participants. This room can optionally be offered as a show room. First come – first serve, no charge.
