United Airlines flight UA328, a Boeing 777-200, experienced an uncontained no. 2 engine failure (PW4077) after departure from Denver International Airport (DEN/KDEN), Colorado, USA.
The aircraft took off from runway 25 at 13:04 hours local time (20:04 UTC), bound for Honolulu, Hawaii.
About four minutes after takeoff the right hand engine experienced an uncontained failure. Parts of the engine inlet cowl and fan cowls separated and came down in a residential area of Broomfield.
The flight circled back and landed safely on runway 26 at 13:28 hours.
There are no reported injuries onboard the aircraft or on the ground.
