On Monday, Delta Air Lines’ announced the company’s
new restructuring plan that will reduce its fleet by 200 aircraft or more by
2015. Company executives say the airline will maintain current capacity levels,
despite the reduction.
By slowly replacing smaller aircraft with larger,
more efficient aircraft, DL senior VP financial Chase said DL will increase
revenues, lower costs, maintain capacity discipline, and improve the customer
experience.
DL will
shut down its Comair regional subsidiary at the end of September
