Air France-KLM, Lufthansa CEOs call for action on Gulf carriers
The CEOs of Air France-KLM and German flag carrier Lufthansa have written to EU Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc, calling for new measures to counter what they say are unfair practices by Gulf carriers. The rapid expansion of Middle Eastern carriers, and increasing price competition, have taken a toll on European airlines. They have long argued that their Gulf counterparts have an unfair advantage because they receive illegal subsidies from their national governments.
