The aircraft struck power lines and impacted the waters of Lake Tulloch under unknown circumstances and sunk in 150 feet deep in Calaveras County, California.
The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the sole pilot on board was fatally injured.
“They told us the plane was coming in, doing a fly by to say hello to their family, like it was pre-scheduled,” Witness said.
