A Canadair CL-215-1A10 firefighting airplane, registration EC-HET, was destroyed when it impacted hilly terrain during a firefighting operation Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês area on the Portuguese/Spanish border. The accident occurred 1-2 km inside Spanish territory.
The Portuguese pilot died in the crash, the Spanish co-pilot sustained serious injuries.
Compañía de Extinción General de Incendios (CEGISA) Canadair CL-215 (EC-HET, built 1974) crashed on a hillside while firefighting near Lobios, Ourense, Spain. Both pilots survived, one is in critical condition. @BrifLaza
