INCIDENT A twin-engine airplane has crash-landed at Western Lakes Golf Club with 56 dogs on board

This flight was a planned transport, bringing at-risk adoptable dogs from shelters in the southern U.S. to the Waukesha Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) and several partner shelters. Vans waiting at Waukesha County Airport were told to head to the golf course, and the dogs were quickly whisked away.

The plane’s pilot, co-pilot and human passenger were not seriously hurt.

Narrative:
Ameriflight flight 7141, a Fairchild SA227-AT Expediter, landed on the Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee, WI, USA. The aircraft came down 6 km short of runway 10 at Waukesha County Airport (UES).
The three persons and 56 dogs on the aircraft survived.

Photos from the scene show the left-hand wing was severed just outside the no.1 engine.

Visibility at the time was limited due to snowfall. Fifteen minutes before the accident, visibility at UES was reported to be 800 m.
