Credit: Wayne Jackson / Alamy Stock PhotoSINGAPORE—Ten people are dead, including a local assemblyman, after a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) crashed into a highway Aug. 17 while attempting to land at Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Subang Airport.
The aircraft N28JV was operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd and was carrying two crew and six passengers from Langkawi to Subang. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said in a statement that the flight departed Langkawi at 2:08 p.m. local time, and landing clearance at Subang was given at 2:48 p.m.
Three minutes later, the tower observed smoke originating from the crash site but no mayday call was made.
Two motorists on the ground were also killed in the accident. Pahang state assembly man Johari Harun was among those who died.
According to the Jetvalet website, the company was established during the pandemic by “ex-airline professionals.” The company also has a Hawker Beechcraft 4000 and a Gulfstream G4.
