Swiss AF Resumes Super Puma Flights After Groundings

The Swiss Air Force has resumed flights of its fleet of Airbus Helicopters Super Pumas, after they had been grounded following a fatal crash in the Alps Wednesday. Reuters reported initial checks found no evidence of systemic faults. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
Two pilots died, and another crewmember was injured, when the military helicopter crashed after takeoff. The aircraft went down at the Gotthard Pass after carrying out an operation related to an international inspection mission.
Earlier this year, the European Aviation Safety Authority grounded two types of civil Super Pumas following the discovery of metal fatigue in the gearbox of an H225 after it crashed.
