Zelensky could still attend Alaska summit, but rest of Europe is shut out

As things stand, neither Kyiv nor Europe are invited to the summit between Presidents Trump and Putin on ending the war in Ukraine. Territorial concessions are likely to be discussed and Europe (not least Ukraine) doesn't want its borders to be redrawn through force, writes Ukraine correspondent James Waterhouse. Following a meeting on Monday, EU leaders issued a statement saying Ukrainians must have the freedom to decide their future, amid concerns Kyiv is being sidelined. But whether or not Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky does make the trip, the door for Europe has firmly remained shut, James adds.
