As things stand, neither Kyiv nor Europe are invited to the
summit between Presidents Trump and Putin on ending the war in Ukraine.
Territorial concessions are likely to be discussed and Europe (not least
Ukraine) doesn't want its borders to be redrawn through force, writes
Ukraine correspondent James Waterhouse.
Following a meeting on Monday, EU leaders issued a statement saying
Ukrainians must have the freedom to decide their future, amid concerns
Kyiv is being sidelined. But whether or not Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelensky does make the trip, the door for Europe has firmly remained
shut, James adds.
