BUCHAREST, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A helicopter crashed into a lake Monday, killing five people on board, including three German citizens, Romanian authorities said.
The accident occurred near a village in the town of Taureni in Mures County, officials from local emergency services said.
Ovidiu Petru Olteanu, mayor of Taureni, said the owner of the helicopter, who was a Romanian businessman, was killed together with the pilot and three German businessmen. One woman survived.
They had visited a wood processing factory in a village and the helicopter they were travelling in crashed three minutes after take-off.
The only survivor, a woman identified as the Romanian businessman's assistant, sustained minor injuries.
Four bodies were retrieved from the lake and the fifth one was still trapped in the wreckage of the helicopter.
The five people all drowned, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is under way.
