Several NATO air forces began the latest, reinforced Baltic air policing mission today.

The German Luftwaffe began policing Baltic airspace from Ämari air base in Estonia with four German Eurofighters while six Portuguese and four Canadian CF-18s are conducting the mission from Siauliai, Lithuania.
The Luftwaffe fighters, backed up by two more Eurofighters on 96-hour alert in Germany, relieved Royal Danish Air Force F-16s conducting the mission since May 1.
