Electric aircraft developer Ampaire is studying the feasibility of modifying the de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter to hybrid-electric propulsion under a NASA contract. The Hawthorne, California-based startup is teamed with experienced Twin Otter modifier Ikhana Aircraft Services. The study is one of several funded as a result of a NASA solicitation seeking proposals for electrified aircraft propulsion (EAP) flight demonstrators.
