From
IFALPA:
Dear
Colleagues,
Many have expressed
concerns regarding travelling to Singapore for the upcoming 75th IFALPA
Conference.
The Executive Board has
thoroughly assessed the situation, taking into consideration the latest
information from the WHO, the Ministry of Health of Singapore and other sources,
as well as recommendations from the hosting Member Association,
ALPA-Singapore.
Our conclusion is to
abstain from holding this year’s IFALPA Conference in Singapore as
planned.
We are currently reviewing
options for an alternate location outside of Asia to have a Conference in 2020;
it is intended to use the original period (2-6 April 2020) but to shorten the
overall length to two days, concentrating Conference business on the
constitutional requirements and major pending decisions as well as
elections.
Further details on the
contingency plan will be communicated as soon as possible.
Kind
regards,
IFALPA Executive
Board
