USAF museet i Dayton, Ohio, har stadig spennende aktivteter

Micro Drone Race

Saturday, February 29, Race starts at 11 a.m.

See fast flying micro machines, in this rapid growing sport, as 40 pilots maneuver their drones over, under and around the C-124 and F-82 along the racecourse in the Korean War Gallery. 

The race will begin at 11 a.m. and will consist of a series of 2-minute heats with four drones in each heat. (Pilots will practice between 9-11 a.m.) Spectators will be able to watch the race along the course, as well as from a large screen that will show the drones' perspective as they are racing. 

Beginning at 9 a.m. visitors will be able to try their hand at flying drones or experience flying a drone with computer-based simulators. Visitor's can also visit the "SkyVision" air traffic control center to learn about drones used in the Air Force.

Note: The drone pilots in this race have pre-registered to participate.

 
First Thursday - Open Late until 8 p.m.

The museum, theatre, gift shop and cafés will remain open until 8 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in 2020. In March look-in the cockpit of the F-100F between 5-8 p.m. Learn more about the aircraft from museum volunteer Col. (Ret.) Jack Wilson, a former pilot, flight instructor and aircraft commander, who has flown the F-100C and F-100D, as well as the F-4 and F-101. He also participated in 100 Missions North Vietnam and 45 Missions Laos.
