Lockheed Martin has delivered its 2,700th C-130 Hercules, with the milestone aircraft further increasing the size, reach and strength of the worldwide multi-mission tactical airlift fleet.

The 2,700th unit is a KC-130J Super Hercules tanker operated by the US Marine Corps Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 at Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point, North Carolina; the largest KC-130J fleet in the world. From here, the aircraft will help “provide true force amplification across the globe,” said Rod McLean, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin’s air mobility and maritime missions business sector. Delivery of the 2,700th unit also “reflects the inherent mission and performance adaptability that fuels the C-130’s ongoing relevance,” he added.

The global C-130J fleet currently spans 26 operators in 20 nations with over 20 airworthiness certifications, having logged nearly three million flight hours to date. Lockheed Martin has delivered more than 525 C-130J Super Hercules in 10 mission variants, with the most recent order – for three new C-130Js – placed by the Philippines in October 2023.
