Airbus Helicopters EC175 Simulator Gains EASA Approval
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified Airbus Helicopters’ Level D full-flight simulator for the EC175. Located in Marignane, France at the company’s Helisim Training Academy, the simulator boasts a visual projection system with a 201-by-80-degree continuous field of view, and is equipped with the same data pack, avionics suite and automatic flight control system as the actual EC175.

The simulator employs a motion system with computer-generated visual scenes and representations of cockpit instruments to allow for specific mission scenarios. In addition to the Europe-based training systems in France, another EC175 Level D full-flight simulator will be located in the U.S. to serve the offshore oil and gas industry throughout the Americas.
