Har USA overtatt overvåkingen av Norges nærområder? - BAF

 

Det kom tre P-8 maritime overvåkningsfly fra US Navy/USA til Andøya flystasjon helgen 27. september. De er her fortsatt og vi skriver 29. oktober, og vi har ikke hørt noe om når de skal forlate.....eller om de blir mer eller mindre permanent.
I denne artikkelen fra 28. september svarte Forsvarets operative hovedkvarter følgende:
"– De skal øve store deler av denne uken i havområdene utenfor Troms og Nordland, får VOL opplyst hos Forsvarets operative hovedkvarter (FOH) i Bodø."
De har noen laaaaaange uker hos FOH i Bodø 😉
Det er nå ønskelig å få svar på om US Navy har overtatt overvåkningen av Norges kyst- og havområder? I hvilke områder opererer de? Hvor lenge skal de operere fra Andøya flystasjon? Hva har regjeringen og stortingspolitikerne å si om dette? Er dette ønskelig fra norsk side? Hvorfor flyr de fra Andøya flystasjon? Er det for at vedtaket om nedleggelse av Andøya flystasjon har ført til at det norske maritime overvåkningsmiljøet ligger med brukket rygg? En ting skal regjeringen, forsvarsminister og Forsvarsdepartementet ikke skylde på, og det er P-3 Orionflyenes alder og tilstand, for det vet vi er helt feil. De er i luften på touch & go innimellom, men sjeldent på lange tokt, og det tyder på mannskapsmangel.

SEAL Team Six Executes Long Distance Rescue Operation Of Kidnapped American In Nigeria


U.S. special operations forces, including members of the U.S. Navy's elite SEAL Team Six, have rescued an American citizen, who was kidnapped just days ago in the northwest African country of Niger, in a raid in neighboring Nigeria. You can read more about what is known about the abduction of 27-year-old Philip Walton from his home in the Nigerien village of Massalata, less than five miles from the Nigerian border, on Oct. 26, in The War Zone's previous reporting on that incident. At the time, we had predicted that some type of special operations mission operation to rescue Mr. Walton could be imminent. 

ABC News was first to report on the operation, which occurred at an as-yet-undisclosed location in Northern Nigeria and was conducted with cooperation from Nigerien and Nigerian authorities. The Pentagon has now confirmed that the rescue mission took place in the early hours of Oct. 31, 2020, and was successful, with Walton now safely in the care of the U.S. State Department.

Slik tror han mange har det, men nå ser framtiden lys ut. Innen fem år er det ventet at verdens første elflyrute går mellom Stavanger og Bergen.

Det er forventet en enorm elektrifisering av samfunnet, men lading av fly, busser og skip vil gi en stor økning i strømbehov.

Air France KLM Group posts net loss of €1,665 million for third quarter of 2020


The continuation of the Covid-19 crisis severely impacted the Third quarter 2020 results:

  • Revenue at 2,524 million euros, down 67% compared to last year
  • EBITDA loss at -442 million euros, limited thanks to cost control and state aid
  • Operating result at –1,046 million euros, down 1,955 million euros compared to last year
  • Net income at -1,665 million euros, including restructuring provision at -565 million euros, Covid-19 related over-hedging at -39 million euros and fleet impairment at -31 million euros
  • Net debt at 9,308 million euros, up 3,161 million compared to end of 2019
  • At 30 September 2020, the Group has 12.4 billion euros of liquidity or credit lines at disposal

Air France and KLM have agreed with labour representatives on substantial restructuring plans and submitted them for final validation to the French and Dutch states.

OUTLOOK

Air France-KLM Group continues to implement the highest safety standards for its customers and employees to counter virus transmission risks. After the lockdown, the Group observed a positive demand recovery trend until mid-August. Then, the negative trend reversal for the Passenger activity led the airlines of the Group to adjust downwards the capacity planned for the fall and winter period. There is limited visibility on the demand recovery curve as customer booking behaviour is much more short-term oriented and also highly dependent on the imposed travel restrictions, especially on the Long Haul network. The period of lockdown starting today in France is a new difficulty that will weigh on the Group’s activities. In this context the Group expects:

  • Capacity in Available Seat kilometres circa index 45 for KLM and inferior to index 35 for Air France in the Fourth quarter 2020 compared to 2019 for the Network passenger activity
  • Negative load factor developments for the Fourth quarter of 2020, particularly on the long-haul network, and negative yield mix effects due to a delayed recovery in business traffic

The Group anticipates a challenging fourth quarter of 2020, with a substantial lower EBITDA compared to Q3 2020.


The Board of Directors of Air France-KLM, chaired by Anne-Marie Couderc, met on 29 October 2020 to approve the financial statements for the nine months 2020. Group CEO Mr. Benjamin Smith said: “After a promising recovery during the summer, the gradual closure of international borders in the second half of August and the resurgence of the pandemic strongly impacted our results in the Third Quarter, with the Group reporting an operating loss of 1.0 billion euros. We have accelerated the implementation of cost reduction and cash preservation measures. We are also working closely with our partners on various means, such as rapid detection tests, that would allow traffic within the best sanitary conditions for our customers and employees. Beyond these immediate necessary measures, we are engaged in a more profound transformation of our Group, with the objective of exiting this crisis in a stronger position, ready to address the future challenges of our industry. Air transport will continue to connect people and cultures, but we foresee changes in customers’ expectations that we anticipate too. We expect a challenging Fourth quarter 2020, with current forward booking sharply down compared to last year.”

Donald Trump's Famous S-76 Helicopter Is For Sale


President Donald Trump's most iconic Sikorsky S-76B helicopter is now up for sale. Through stripped of the large "TRUMP" in white letters on the tail boom, pictures of the helicopter show it still has its distinctive Trump Organization paint scheme of black-over-white with red cheatlines, as well as its lavish VIP interior with gold trimmings. 

Toronto, Canada-based Aero Asset, together with Jet Edge Partners in the United States, are selling the helicopter, which still carries the U.S. civil registration code N76DT, a clear reference to its famous owner. The S-76B itself is said to be in Trenton, New Jersey, awaiting its future buyer. Anyone who's interested will have to call to inquire about the asking price or make an offer.

A 2016 story from The New York Times said the helicopter was valued at approximately $875,000, which looks to be about right based on the available comps, but that doesn't take into account that it was owned by a television star whose now the 45th President of the United States. It was also a star in its own right, being repeatedly featured in The Apprentice, including during the opening titles. 

This particular S-76B came off the line at Sikorsky, which is now a division of Lockheed Martin, in 1989, two years after the type first hit the market. The company had introduced the original S-76A in the late 1970s. N76DT, which also has the serial number 760351, has just under 6,260 flight hours on the airframe.

The improved S-76B, an outgrowth of a helicopter Sikorsky originally marketed as the S-76 Mk II, had more powerful engines, as well as improved avionics and other upgrades that allowed for true all-weather operation. S-76 series helicopters, including further improved S-76C variants, have seen some use with militaries and other security forces. However, they have long been a go-to choice for VIPs, including notable business figures, such as Trump, and other celebrities, and even heads of state and royalty, including the Queen of England. Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others tragically died when the S-76B they were traveling in crashed earlier this year.

N76DT still has a pair of Pratt & Whitney PT6B-36A turboshaft engines, which were found on early S-76Bs, instead of the PT6B-36Bs found on some later examples. This helicopter has received other upgrades more recently, as well, including the addition of a Garmin GMX-200 digital multi-function display in the cockpit.

Of course, the big draw for anyone interested in buying N76DT will be the luxurious interior, which seats six in leather-covered seats with actual gold seatbelts. There is various other gold fittings inside the cabin, a Trump hallmark, as well as various features with African Mahogany veneers.

It's not necessarily surprising that Trump is selling this S-76B, which is one of three he has owned, along with various other aircraft, for years now and appears to be the one he has had the longest. It's not clear when he acquired this helicopter, but he bought the second S-76B, a 1990 production example, in 2012, which was registered first as N76TE. Trump had that helicopter shipped to the Trump Turnberry Resort in Scotland in 2015, after which it was subsequently re-registered in the United Kingdom with the U.K. civil registration code G-TRMP.

In 2014, Trump acquired another 1989 production S-76B, as well, which received the registration code N7TP. Both G-TRMP and N7TP wear distinctive white-red-and-blue livery, something of an inverse of N76DT's paint scheme, with "TRUMP" written in red letters on the tail boom.
