Vietnam faces pilot shortage, looks
abroad
The Ministry of Transport has instructed Vietnam Airlines to
review its salary policy, citing the high number of pilots who wish to leave the
company for better pay.
Highly trained employees, including pilots, air
traffic controllers and aircraft maintenance workers have filed requests to
resign.
The turnover threatens to destabilize Vietnam Airlines's ongoing
operations, according to Transportation Minister Dinh La Thang.
The
national carrier was ordered to increase salaries and allowances for these
workers in the first quarter of the year.
