Jet Airways is hiring B777 pilots - Curt Lewis

JET AIRWAYS TO EMPLOY MORE EXPATS AS PILOTS THIS YEAR

After prematurely terminating some of its foreign pilots last year, Jet Airways has once again approached the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to issue an authorisation letter to expats that they could hire for its Boeing 777 long-haul operations.

Officials said that the airline will require pilots from June, when six of its Boeing 777 aircraft, currently on lease to its Abu Dhabibased partner airways Etihad, return to its fleet. "The plan is to deploy these birds on routes like Amsterdam, Paris and Toronto," an airline pilot said. The airline currently operates Airbus A330 on these routes and currently has 80 expats flying its Boeing 737 shorthaul flights.
