Theoretical Knowledge Instructor(s) (EASA ATP)

 

 

 

The company is growing due to a worldwide demand for pilots, and we are currently looking to expand our theory department with new tenured theory instructors as well as part-time instructors. We are looking to hire instructors for both the academy´s facilities,
at Torp Sandefjord and Notodden.

You must enjoy working in a team but also be self-driven, responsible and able to follow routines and procedures. As a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor you need to be highly motivated and knowledgeable within your field, and if you are applying for a tenured position you must be able to teach at least three different ATP-level subjects. All instruction is to be given in English, so it is a requirement that all applicants both speak and write English fluently.

Theoretical Knowledge Instructors in license and ratings examination subjects shall have appropriate experience in aviation and shall, before appointment, give proof of their competency by giving a test lecture based on material they have developed for the subjects they are to teach.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Instruction in large classes as well as in groups or individually
• Perform all instruction in a skilled manner with flight safety, professional standards and regulation requirements as primary concern
• Maintain competency and qualification in every assigned subject and ensure your instruction is in accordance with EASA Learning Objectives at all times
• Maintain all training material (various media forms) in a current state at all times

• Ensure that the policies and procedures of the academy´s manuals are maintained
• Follow all instructions given by senior managers
• Attend scheduled standardization meetings after hours
• Aid in the ongoing task of syllabus updates 
• Be prepared to instruct at both the academy´s facilities (Torp Sandefjord and Notodden) and be responsible for your own means of transportation between the two 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Speak and write English fluently
• Legal right to live and work in Norway
• Clean criminal record
• Either previous experience from teaching ATP subjects
• or be a former pilot with teaching experience 

• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Leadership- and coaching skills
• Self-driven and structured in your work
• Able to follow routine and procedures

Upon employment, the selected candidates have to apply for The Civil Aviation Authority of Norway’s background check, and be approved to hold a mandatory access card that gives access to the security clearance area at the airport.
