Bird strikes - Curt Lewis

Incident: Delta A332 at New York on Sep 1st 2019, bird strike A Delta Airlines Airbus 330-200, registration N856NW performing flight DL-4 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was on approach to JFK's runway 04R when the aircraft received a bird strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing. The FAA reported the aircraft received unknown damage due to receiving a bird strike on approach to land. Incident: American A319 at Saint Louis on Sep 2nd 2019, bird strike An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N5007E performing flight AA-944 from Saint Louis,MO to Miami,FL (USA), was in the initial climb out of Saint Louis' runway 30L when the aircraft sustained a bird strike. Tower told the crew "if you don't mind your engine is smoking a little bit more than good", the crew advised they were assessing the situation. The crew subsequently decided to return to Saint Louis, stopped the climb at about 6000 feet and landed back on runway 30L about 15 minutes after departure. The FAA reported two engine (CFM56) blades broke as result of a bird strike. Incident: SAS A20N at Stockholm on Sep 1st 2019, bird strike A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Airbus A320-200N, registration SE-DOY performing flight SK-7836 from Rhodes (Greece) to Stockholm (Sweden), landed on Stockholm's runway 19R and taxied to the apron. The aircraft, supposed to perform flight SK-2541 to Edinburgh,SC (UK) next, was towed away of the departure gate however. A passenger reported the airline explained the aircraft received a bird strike on approach to Stockholm's Arlanda Airport and needed to be checked. A replacement Airbus A320-200N registration SE-ROP performed flight SK-2541 reaching Edinburgh with a delay of about 2 hours. SE-DOY remained on the ground in Stockholm for about 22 hours before returning to service.
