A helicopter crashed in lake Ranco, in southern Chile. Three on board were rescued while a fourth was killed as a result.
Former President Sebastián Piñera of Chile was killed in the accident.
There are conflicting reports about the identity of the helicopter. Local media reported the aircraft involved was an R66 registered CC-DGV. However, photos purportedly taken of Mr Piñera before takeoff show a helicopter that does not match the colour scheme of CC-DGV.
Mr Piñera is however known to own, or have owned, Robinson R44 Raven II CC-PHP (11776).
