'Mystery' aircraft photographed flying over Texas Panhandle raises speculation
AMARILLO, Texas - The aviation world is buzzing over photos of a supposed top-secret jet aircraft photographed over Texas earlier this month.
Three aircraft were observed flying formation southwest of Amarillo at 4:20 p.m. on March 10 by several photographers.
Steve Douglass, one of the photographers and an experienced aircraft observer, says the aircraft were "larger than fighter-size."
According to Aviation Week, an Air Force representative in Washington responded to queries about the aircraft, and about flight activities at that time and place, with the statement "I have nothing for you." It is a phrase long associated with responses to queries about classified programs and operations, Aviation Week reported.
