UK startup Vertical Aerospace has completed unmanned flight testing of a second full-scale prototype as it continues its stepping-stone approach to developing a certifiable electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) air taxi. Equipped with 12 rotors mounted in six arms above the cabin, the Seraph eVTOL made its first flight at Llanbedr Airport in Wales on Aug. 22. The company’s proof-of-concept (PoC) first prototype flew in May 2018 and was equipped with four ducted fans.
