Bek Air flight 2100, a Fokker 100, crashed into a building during takeoff from Almaty Airport, Kazakhstan.
The aircraft took off from runway 05R and lost height shortly after becoming airborne. It veered right and hit a concrete perimeter fence before impacting a building in a residential area near the runway. The aircraft broke up.
The passenger manifest lists 96 passengers and an additional crew of 5 was on board. Preliminary information states 15 occupants were killed.

A Bek Air Fokker 100, registration UP-F1007 performing
flight Z9-2100 from Almaty to Astana (Kazakhstan) with 93 passengers and 5
crew, departed Almaty's runway 05R at 07:21L (01:21Z) but lost height shortly
after departure, impacted ground, broke through a concrete wall/fence and
impacted a building. No fire broke out, the aircraft broke into several
sections. 66 people were taken to hospital with partly extremely critical
injuries, 15 people (including one of the initial survivors) were confirmed
to have perished. Rescue and Recovery works are still in progress.
Kazakhstan's President sent condolences to the families and relatives of
those killed in the crash.
Almaty Airport reported the Bek Air flight crashed outside the airport and
published a list of 60 names of survivors, who were distributed amongst
several hospitals in Almaty. 14 bodies have been recovered so far. The
condition of 22 of the survivors is described as "extremely
critical". There were 95 passengers and 5 crew on board of the aircraft.
Kazakhstan's Civil Aviation Authority reported the Air Operator's Certificate
of Bek Air was suspended on Dec 27th 2019 following the accident. The
accident aircraft had entered service on Apr 8th 1996, it's airworthiness
certificate was last renewed on May 22nd 2019. The aircraft carried 93
passengers and 5 crew. The captain was 58 years old, the first officer 54
years, both pilots held ATPLs. 15 people have died as result of the accident
so far. An investigation commission has been formed.
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health reported a total of 66 people were taken to
hospitals in Almaty, 50 of those were hospitalized, one of those died despite
hospital care.
A survivor reported the aircraft climbed a little bit began shaking then a
collision occurred. Someone opened the emergency exit and the passenger got
out. There were a lot of injuries (blood, broken arms and legs) and a number
of fatalities around.
Another passenger reported the aircraft had just rotated and was beginning to
gain altitude when the aircraft rolled left then right, then an impact
occurred. The overwing exit was opened, they crawled out of the aircraft via
an icy wing, everyone on the wing slipped on the wing, the passenges helped
each other to get off the wing.
ADS-B Data transmitted by the aircraft's transponder suggest the aircraft
became airborne, climbed only to between 50 and 100 feet AGL, veered right
and impacted buildings abeam of the runway about 3000 meters/10,000 feet down
the runway 05R. Photographic evidence puts the final position to the right of
the runway center line and about 750 meters/2500 feet past the end of the
runway (4400 meters/14,400 feet length).

Kazakhstan plane crash: Bek Air plane comes down near Almaty airport
A passenger plane has crashed in Kazakhstan, killing at least 15 people.
The aircraft from Bek Air - a Kazakh airline - went down and crashed into a building shortly after take-off from Almaty airport early on Friday morning.Survivors described walking from the wreckage into the dark and snow. At least 60 injured people, including children, were taken to hospitals.
The Fokker 100 aircraft was en route from Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, to the capital Nur-Sultan.
The cause of the crash is not known. A Reuters reporter close to the scene said there was heavy fog at the time.
What's known about the crash?
Almaty's airport said Bek Air flight Z92100 was carrying 93 passengers and five crew. A full list of the passengers published by Kazakhstan's interior ministry included five children and three infants.The airport said the plane lost height at 07:22 local time (01:22 GMT), before striking a concrete barrier and crashing into a two-storey building. There was no fire upon impact.
The airport later published the list of 60 survivors who were being treated at hospitals.
Maral Erman, one of the survivors, said the plane was shaking during take-off, Tengri News website reports. She said it first felt as if the plane had landed, but in fact "we hit something".
"There wasn't much chaos on board," she said. "There were no screaming." Ms Erman said the crew opened the exit for passengers to get out of the aircraft.
She added that she later saw the plane had "split in half".
Kazakhstan's interior ministry said six children were among the dead.
The Flightradar24 aviation information website said the flight departed at 01:21 GMT, and "the last signal was received in that same minute".
Footage has emerged of rescuers working at the scene. In it, a woman can be heard calling for an ambulance and the cockpit of the plane is seen wedged into the side of the building.
Bek Air cancelled all its flights soon after the crash.
Almaty's airport said it was operating normally and the flight schedule was unaffected.
Nur-Sultan - a city formerly known as Astana - was renamed after former-President Nursultan Nazarbayev shortly after he stood down in March.
What's been the reaction?
A special commission will be set up to determine the cause of the crash.Kazakhstan's President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev expressed "deep condolences" to the victims' relatives. He also said that "all those responsible will be severely punished in accordance with the law".
What is known about Bek Air?
Bek Air was founded in 1999, initially targeting VIP flight operations, the company's website says.Nowadays, the company describes itself as Kazakhstan's first low-cost airline. Its fleet is made up of seven Fokker-100 aircraft.

This is not the first serious plane crash in the city. On 29 January 2013, a passenger plane travelling from the northern town of Kokshetau came down near Almaty, killing 20 people.
A month earlier, 27 people died when a military plane carrying senior Kazakh security officials crashed in the south of the country.
