While the Navy intends to field an air-launched air-breathing hypersonic anti-ship cruise missile no later than 2028, it also plans to retire its aging fleet of 22 Ticonderoga class guided-missile cruisers over the next five years, replacing them with Flight III Arleigh Burke class destroyers. The Air Force aims to reduce its expected overall F-15EX purchase to just 80 aircraft, lower than the 144 previously thought.

On April 25, the Marine Corps announced that its CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopter is now operational, while the Air Force revealed plans to replace a portion of its fleet of E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning And Control System, or AWACS, aircraft with Boeing E-7 Wedgetail jets
